Latest Version and Parameters.
As the disk protection changed between versions of PowerCopy, which can obviously not be updated on the net, and I am limited to how much data I can serve from this web site, updates will regrettably have to be done through the mail. There is no fee for updates, however if you are sending your disks through the mail, in order to have your disks returned, you must enclose a return addressed stamped jiffy bag. The latest version of PowerCopy is 3.07a of which the files
will be dated 7-Aug-96 if not tampered with. The latest parameters disk is dated the 17-Sep-96 and has 496 parameters. Email me for details.
Ordering a new Hardware Device.
If you can not find a retailer to purchase a replacement Hardware Power Device from, you can order a replacement by sending a money order for $25.00 plus $5.00 postage (Within Australia) or if outside Australia, send an international money order for $25.00 Aust plus $8.00 postage. Send a brief email to request my current postal address.
Is your PowerCopy Authentic?
If you suspect you have been sold an unauthorized copy of PowerCopy, providing the PowerCopy file has not been tampered with you can test it by removing the Hardware Power Device and running PowerCopy from the original floppy disk. If the message "Error Disk Protection Failed" is reported there is a good chance you have been sold an unauthorized copy. Remember to turn off your Amiga before removing the Hardware Power Device or damage to your Amiga may result.
If the disk protection check passes but you still suspect you have an unauthorized copy and your PowerCopy disk has a directory named ReqTools in the root directory, email me requesting the latest PowerCopy file which can be copied over the existing PowerCopy file and carry out the above test again. If the above test still does not report the error message then you are running an authentic copy.
Where Can PowerCopy be Purchased?
I have had no wholesale orders for PowerCopy for about three years now since things for the Amiga went sour. The last of the stock in Australia went to England where I believe it is still available. I am currently looking for sites that still have PowerCopy available and will list any links that I find in the very near future. If you know of a site that is selling PowerCopy, please email the link so I can add it here.
